A few years ago, I received a family history translated from the German by a second cousin of mine, Arthur Henry Holmes who apparently lived in Birmingham in 1987. He records that during military service in WWII, he changed his name from Alexander Heinz Holstein to Holmes. I have checked Jewish obituaries for the UK and assume he is still living. He would be a descendant of Alexander Speier-Holstein whose brother Juda was my grandfather. We expect to be in London in July and would love to contact him. I am a granddaughter of Shnai Josef (Iosif) Grigorievich, and I would like inform about the following: the native sister - Miss Mania Shnai - of my grandfather: Shnai Josef (Iosif) Grigorievich had married in 20-th years in Odesse, Ukraine, Mr. Leo (Liova) Goltser and afterwards they moved to London. Now I am searching for his rest relatives who, to my suppose, might live in Great Britain. To this information I can also add, that they had a relative: Mr.Bernard Goltser. Moreover, now I know exactly, that nowdays in London live two ladies who are daughters of Goltser's family. I know, that these two ladies tried to find me in 1990 with the help of one gentleman in Israel, whose sister had not given me his address. They were like the guests in Israel. I can also inform, that in the beginning of 30-th years Mr. Leo Goltser was a master of piano factory in London. I know as well that on summer 1937 Mr. Goltser visited Odessa, Ukraine, for a couple of months like a guest. I also know Mrs. Goltser-Shnai had died in 1935 in London. I request you very much to inform me about the rest living relatives. My e-mail is: amerum@hotmail.com
